Visit GSSM

Visiting the campus is a great way to experience first-hand the energy of the school. The Admissions Office can schedule individual tours or students can attend one of three Preview Days held each school year in November, January and February.

Individual Visits aka "Tag-a-long Days"
Tag-A-Long Days are held on Monday and Wednesday of each academic week.Visiting students can shadow current students, sit in on classes, visit with teachers, and eat a meal in the dining hall to get a real sense of what a day is like as a Governor's School student.

A group of enthusiastic student ambassadors leads tours for prospective students, giving a real insider's look at the academic and residential aspects of life on campus.While students are shadowing a GSSM student, parents can tour GSSM campus with an Admissions representative.

Smart Preview Opportunities
Get an up-close and personal look at the Governor's School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM) by attending Preview Day at the GSSM campus in Hartsville. Preview Day is a great way for high school sophomores to learn more about GSSM's two-year academic program as well as dorm life, athletics and extracurricular activities.

Prospective students and parents will meet faculty, staff and students; take part in a series of informational panels; and participate in student-guided campus tours.

Preview Days begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.  Students must be a current sophomore to register for a Preview Day.  Once a student registers for a Preview Day, a confirmation packet with a detailed agenda and directions to the GSSM campus will be mailed.

  • Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 - RSVP by Nov. 1
  • Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 - RSVP by Jan. 3
  • Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 - RSVP by Feb. 1
