Explore GSSM Outreach

The Outreach Center at the Governor's School for Science and Mathematics is a statewide resource of exemplary programs that improve and support the science and mathematics achievement of South Carolina students.

Outreach at GSSMThe Center offers programs that engage and enhance the educational experience for S.C. students of all ages through initiatives including regional camps, residential student programs and professional development workshops for educators.

Outreach Mission Statement

The GSSM Outreach Center is based on the belief that all students have an innate curiosity about the natural world, and effective science and mathematics programs should stimulate students' interest in the fields of science, mathematics and technology.

GSSM Outreach programs are designed to engage all students actively in learning mathematics and science, reflect the true nature of science, and provide students with opportunities to explore, discover and grow.

Through hands-on activities, students are able to construct knowledge and become more aware of how science, mathematics and technology relate to their lives. The GSSM Outreach Center reaches out to students around the state through a number of programs.
