GSSM Cross Country Team Takes Third Place at State Championship

On Saturday, November 3, the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) cross country team participated in the Region 1A/2A State Championship meet in Columbia.
The girls' team placed 16th overall, while the boys' team placed third for the second year in a row. In addition, three members of the boys' team qualified for All-State: Niles Brinton, a senior from Leesville; Andy Wentzel, a junior from Pawleys Island; and Campbell Yore, a junior from Greenville.
The GSSM cross country team is comprised of the following students: Lucy Burton-Stephens, a senior from Summerville; Sophia Houtzer, a junior from Walhalla; Olivia Keyes, a junior from Clinton; Darby Kirven, a senior from Darlington; Miroslava Radieva, a junior from Columbia; Mary Catherine Saleeby, a junior from Society Hill; Abby Spangler, a junior from Hilton Head; Niles Brinton, a senior from Leesville; Benjamin Brittain, a junior from Myrtle Beach; Brad Green, a senior from York; Dylan Hale, a senior from York; Davey Hall, a junior from Lake City; Cuchulain Kelly, a junior from Rock Hill; William McGee, a junior from Okatie; Emrys McMahon, a senior from Pawleys Island; Brian Mugo, a junior from Columbia; Chong Ni, a senior from Greer; Luke Rogers, a senior from Bennettsville; Andy Wentzel, a junior from Pawleys Island; and Campbell Yore, a junior from Greenville.
