Governors School for Science and Mathematics Alumni Work Together to Form the GSSM Alumni Association

Alumni of the Governor's School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) met this past Thursday to discuss the implementation of an Alumni Association. A group of twelve enthusiastic and motivated alumni from several GSSM graduating classes discussed the goals, objectives and ideas the Alumni Association should put into action. The main focus of the meeting was to brainstorm ways to keep alumni connected to the school, fellow alumni and current students.A group of four alumni will be the "Structure Group" and will continue to plan and develop the idea of an Alumni Association for GSSM. Upcoming ideas for alumni include attending GSSM's Move-In Day to welcome both new juniors and rising seniors to the school. Other ideas include scholarship programs, alumni donations and reunion weekends.
