Do you have an exciting career or hobby that you want to share? GSSM invites you to apply to become a 2012 SSP Fellow!
As an SSP Fellow, you will teach a class of your design to rising 8th, 9th or 10th graders who attend the Summer Science Program (SSP), which is held annually on GSSM’s campus. In 2012, SSP will be held June 10-16, 17-23 and 24-30.
We are specifically looking for classes in fields such as creating Droid/iPhone apps, computer programming, marine biology and pre-medicine.
To be considered for the fellowship, you must submit an application and course description by November 30. Applicants will be notified of their status by December 16. Click here to apply online.
As an economic driver for South Carolina, GSSM is one of the forces moving our state forward. Our alumni are invited and encouraged to attend the 2011 Liberty Fellowship Summit—an amazing opportunity for people of different backgrounds, beliefs and ideas who share a passion for our state to converge and collaborate. The summit features keynote speaker Walter Isaacson, president and CEO of the Aspen Institute and former chairman and CEO of CNN and editor of TIME magazine, and forum presentations by national experts in education, economic development, public policy, health and the environment. To honor and celebrate Dr. Bill’s unique legacy as the founding father of SPRI (the Summer Program for Research Interns), the GSSM Foundation has created a scholarship in his name, which will be awarded annually to one student to cover the cost of participating in SPRI. Your gift to the Dr. Bill Scholarship Fund counts towards the alumni challenge and is a great way to show your love for one of GSSM’s favorite teachers! Click here to make your contribution today.
