Since 1988, the Governor's School for Science & Mathematics has made a positive impact on the lives of more than 1,100 highly motivated high school students from across South Carolina.
Today, 52% of GSSM alumni call the Palmetto State home with impressive careers in fields such as engineering, medicine, law, education, architecture and business. In addition, Govies are positioned in careers and colleges across the globe, honoring GSSM wherever they go.
Bridging the past with the present and the future is what GSSM's Smart Giving 20th Anniversary Campaign is all about. Together, we can sustain the unique educational opportunities that have made the Governor's School one of the Top 20 high schools in the nation, and we can impact tremendous positive change as the School embarks on a growth plan that will more than double its size and significantly enhance its curriculum. The Smart Giving 20th Anniversary Campaign supports the following unique endeavors:
- Scholarships & Financial Aid (Cost: $1,200 per student)
- Summer Program for Research Interns (SPRI) (Cost: $3,000 per student)
- Summer Science Program (SSP) (Cost: $600 per student)
- Classroom technology and academic enhancements (robotics, music, art, adjunct professors, computers, software, instruments, lab equipment, etc.)
- General operations (marketing, recruitment, printing, etc.)
- GSSM Alumni Endowed Fund for Advanced Academics & Programming - Alumni Only - Goal: $10,000
